School Achievement Highlights 2007-2008 Academic Year
- The International Leadership Charter School has made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two consecutive years
- We are a GAP closing high performing charter school
- Students at ILCS have met and exceeded expectations on New York State Regents Examinations June 2008 outperforming neighboring community high schools
- ILCS is in its third year of operation
- Renovation of a commercial space to comply with NYC Department of Building Codes
- There are 230 students currently enrolled at ILCS in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades
- Our instructional day begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM
- We provide a total of 250 days of instructional time as compared to 180 days of instruction in traditional NYC high schools
- We have average over 95% on daily attendance
- Although there is not a New York State requirement for our ninth (9) grade students to take the Regents for June 2008:
- Eighty-eight percent (88%) of our (ninth graders) have passed the Biology/Living Environment Regents
- 67% of our students in first cohort (10th grade) have passed three or more Regents. Of those students 10% of the first cohort passed all 6 Regents administered to date
- Sixty-two percent (62%) of our students (ninth graders) were accelerated in Algebra and passed the Math A Regents
- 20% of our students are participating in a college bound prep program
- 30% of our students are ELLs
- 18-20% of our students are Special Needs
- In August of 2008 ILCS received a grant award in the amount of $350,000.00 from the SUNY Charter Schools Institute State Stimulus Fund for its school expansion that will cost approximately $700,000.00
- ILCS has completed the construction of its expansion space that includes a Science Laboratory and additional classrooms to accommodate its Juniors and Seniors
