Content Area High School Teachers, Grades 9 through 12

The International Leadership Charter School [ILCS] is conducting a search for outstanding
teacher candidates for employment. Teachers will be responsible for the instructional delivery of all standards-based instruction in accordance with the ILCS Charter Agreement to increase
student achievement. Teachers will report to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Teacher positions are available in the areas of English, Science, Math, History, and English as a Second Language. The search and interview process will continue until all teaching positions are filled.

Specifically Teachers will:

• Teach the curriculum as aligned with New York State performance standards
• Create a classroom environment conducive to optimizing teaching and learning
• Manage classrooms, collect and analyze student performance data
• Maintain constructive relationships with administration, peers, staff, parents and students
• Actively seek and participate in professional development activities and utilize
• community resources to improve or support instruction
• Serve as an advisor to a small group of students

Qualifications:

• The minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of high school teaching experience, completion or enrollment in a graduate education program of study, demonstrated mastery of subject area to be taught. NYS certification is required.
• In addition, ILCS teachers must be willing and open to participating in required ongoing professional development activities to strengthen the school’s culture and improve instruction. Candidates must be proficient in the English language.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred for teachers who are applying to teach in the areas of Science and Mathematics.
