On June 29, 2018 the International Leadership Charter High School held the graduation ceremony for Cohort IX. This annual commencement celebration with all stakeholders in our school community present is always an exciting and extraordinary event. This single day embodies all that we do at our charter high school to support the academic accomplishment and personal success for each scholar.. All efforts are intentional and dedicated toward the 100% graduation of our scholars who are prepared for the next phase of their journey toward the completion college.

I am delighted to announce that our Valedictorian, Cartomou Feseru, will attend New York University, to major in the Bio-Molecular Science and to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. While a high school student Cartomou was selected to enroll in college level courses through the Lehman College Now program.  Cartomou’s favorite quote “See the bad inside yourself and see the good inside others” --- Imam Ali. Our Salutatorian, Stephanie Nunez, will attend Iona College to study psychology and plans to pursue a Law degree.  As a high school student, Stephanie participated in the Scales of Justice Law Program and Model UN representing Brazil. She describes in her senior profile that these experiences were eye opening and transformative experiences.

MADD Truth: Lasting Lessons for Students of Life Author Rev. Dr. Alfonso Wyatt
Reverend Dr. Alfonso Wyatt speaks to our rising Juniors about the “MADD Truth: Lasting Lessons for Students of Life” This book was authored by Dr. Wyatt as part of his outreach ministry to youth in a troubled society to offer a pathway to find the light in the dark places that life experiences have created. In his lecture he provided insights, inspiration and wise counsel for students to follow their dreams and how to do so when others are distracting and derailing your goals.

Amber Charter School Students Visit Seniors
Six Students from Amber Charter School visit our charter school to thank the 6 Seniors who served throughout the academic year. Once a week our seniors worked with teachers to support 6 Amber Stars and rising scholars. Our charter school is proud to partner with Amber in providing our scholar Interns who serve as Teacher Assistants and are paired with children who are learning how to read, write as well as improve their mathematics skills. In addition, to the joy that it brings to both the children and the intern this partnership assists our scholars in completing their 200 hours of community service which is a graduation requirement.
